Councillor Kenny Blair
I was elected to represent the Marple South Ward, as it was called then, in 2015. Originally from Scotland, I moved to Manchester in 2003 for work and had no interest in politics until 2014 when I was studying for a part time law degree. This happened to coincide with the campaigning in the Scottish independence referendum which I was heavily involved with campaigning for a No vote and also a local campaign for a multi-user bridle way in Chadkirk. Having attended a Marple Area Committee, I noted how comfortable the local Councillors seemed to be, having been in post for a number of years. I also felt it was not representative of society with Marple North and South wards and this is something I wanted to change.
I have broad experience having studied in Scotland and Sweden, worked in Scotland and England and travelled extensively in Europe and the US with my job. I hold an Engineering degree, a Masters in Business and a Law Degree. Socially, I enjoy watching football and most other sports, playing golf, horse riding, reading, walking, socialising with friends, spending time at my allotment and most importantly, spending time with my young family.
