Last night at the Economy and Regeneration Scrutiny Committee, I asked why the A6 was not on the action list for the GM Clean Air Plan. The exchange can be viewed on the webcast, but the A6 will now be added to the list due to 'new' evidence being brought forward. I questioned the 'new' evidence as evidence has been out there since 2014 that areas of the A6 and A34 were above the legal limit of 40µg/m3 . I am glad this has now been recognised by the Council, because it is important for the residents of High Lane that this addressed.

Very pleased that the double yellow lines I have been pushing for with the Council have finally been laid at the junction between Eastwood Drive and Cross Lane in Marple. This was a dangerous junction with numerous near misses due to cars and in some instances trucks, being parked right on the corner.
The job still needs to be complete due to a car being parked there while work went on, but the Contractors expect this to be done in the near future.
