I met with Council Officers today at the Windlehurst A6 junction. Lots of discussions about the issues and seeing the problems first hand. Issues raised and actions to take were -
1. No right turn filter from Disley direction into Windlehurst - camera survey to be undertaken next week
2. Cars using Windlehurst as two lanes coming into A6 - additional road markings to be added
3. ‘Kink’ in road coming up from Hazel Grove which causes left turning traffic to veer out and potentially impacts on cyclists - Council undertaking an As-built survey to model various different solutions.
4. Additional signage on left turn to highlight necessity to give way.
Will keep you posted on any further updates.
My online survey is now live, Click on the link above and complete. Look forward to hearing from you soon.
I am pleased to advise that after residents contacted me in relation to an overgrown path next to St Thomas Church in High Lane, the path has now been cut back. See below for before and after pictures. Any more overgrown paths, please contact me.
At the Economy & Regeneration Scrutiny Committee meeting last Thursday I asked for the help of the Corporate Director of Place in relation to the Windlehurst Junction. Despite numerous requests by me to the Project team for a site visit, no response has been forthcoming. After the Directors intervention, I would expect a response sooner rather than later.
