A number of concerned residents have contacted Cllr Kenny Blair regarding the new junction layout between the A6 and Windlehurst Road. This was after a number of incidents involving bumps between cyclists and cars and also incorrect maneouvering at the junction by cars and HGVs.
Kenny visited the site in June and contacted Officers who realised that the newly opened junction did not conform with the design drawing and the lines had to be re-drawn.
However, serious concerns still exist with the layout of the junction, therefore Kenny has requested an onsite meeting with the Project team to see the issues first hand and compare the actual layout with the design drawings.
Cllr Blair said, “Residents in High Lane suffered 26 weeks of disruption for this new junction in the hope that it would improve things. Based on feedback thus far, this is far from the case. SMBC must listen to these concerns and address them.
